20 Jan Give bonuses your employees care about
Many heritage professionals aren’t motivated by money. To incentivize performance, figure out what they really want: a week off to write, a trip to a conference, a chance to take a class or seminar, work-at-home flexibility.
Bonuses are important, but make them the right kind of bonus to recognize their contribution, ramp up performance, and build loyalty. Also, smaller “spot” bonuses given immediately after a notable accomplishment can provide better performance motivation than a larger reward given at the end of the year.
